The Process

Historic projects present specific challenges to contractors. The VASE team worked with Investors, City, and State Agencies to overcome those challenges and restore the building to its former glory.

Working with private investors and the Hartford Community Loan Fund, the VASE team was able to raise the financing required to close on and rehab the property.

In addition, the project was approved for over $100,000 of Historic Tax Credits by DECD/State Historic Preservation Oce.

Construction began in 2020 and proceeded throughout the year in spite of delays caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

In May 2021, the project was completed and listed for rent, thereby providing valuable housing to the Clay Hill neighborhood of Hartford, Connecticut.
